About Hunger Hustle 5k
The Salvation Army is taking steps to feed those in our community by hosting its Hunger Hustle Virtual 5k Walk/Run which starts June 14th, 2021 and ends on June 20, 2021. Participants across the county will have an opportunity to help provide food boxes, for families impacted financially over this last year.
"As we continue to adhere to the recommendations by medical experts, virtual events are our safest alternative. Our first virtual event of the year is the Hunger Hustle 5k Walk/Run. It's a fun way for donors to participate at their own pace, while helping to raise money to feed families suffering the financial effects of this last year." said Corps Officer, Major Jessyca Carr.
Participants in the Hunger Hustle 5k can run, jog or walk wherever they want or choose one of the trails provided. There will be a daily social media giveaway to help motivate participants during the competition. To be considered for the giveaways, photo posts must show the participants in action with the hashtag #TSAHungerHustleSB.

Central Coast Community Energy is a locally-controlled public agency supplying clean and renewable electricity for residents and businesses in Monterey, San Benito, parts of San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Santa Cruz Counties. Central Coast Community Energy is based on a local energy model called Community Choice Energy that partners with the local utility (in our case PG&E or SCE) which continues to provide consolidated billing, electricity transmission and distribution, customer service and grid maintenance services. PG&E or SCE accounts within Central Coast Community Energy’s service area will be enrolled in Central Coast Community Energy’s default electric program, 3Cchoice unless they choose to opt-up to 3Cprime, 100% renewable energy or they opt-out and return to PG&E or SCE bundled service. Central Coast Community Energy provides customers with a choice for clean and renewable energy, and community reinvestment through rate benefits and local GHG reducing energy programs for residential, commercial and agricultural customers.
